Russia’s air defense forces repelled a massive overnight drone assault launched by Ukrainian forces, the Ministry of Defense reported. According to the statement, air defense crews intercepted and destroyed 71 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles targeting various Russian regions.

The highest drone activity was recorded over the Bryansk Region, where 29 aircraft were shot down. Another seven were destroyed over Kursk, five over Lipetsk, and five more over Smolensk.

Four drones were neutralized over each of the Oryol, Tver, and Samara regions, while three were intercepted over Crimea. In addition, single drones were brought down over the Kaluga, Rostov, and Tula regions.

The Defense Ministry also confirmed that seven Ukrainian drones were intercepted above the Black Sea, preventing them from reaching their intended targets.

The large-scale attack represents one of the most extensive overnight drone operations attempted by Kyiv’s forces in recent weeks, all of which were successfully countered by Russian air defenses.
