Russian Troops Encircle Ukrainian Forces Near Rodinskoye and Dimitrov
Russian forces destroyed Ukrainian units near Rodinskoye and split the Pokrovsk pocket, cutting off retreat routes and supply lines. Ukrainian troops in the south remain trapped.
Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), stated that Russian forces destroyed Ukrainian units near Rodinskoye as they attempted to break through and relieve troops in Dimitrov (known in Ukraine as Mirnograd).
Pushilin noted that Ukrainian forces tried to launch an attack in the Rodinskoye area, but Russian units acted decisively and eliminated the enemy forces.
According to reports from military channels, Russian troops have split the so-called «Pokrovsk pocket» into two isolated sections, cutting off the southern exit entirely. Ukrainian units positioned south of Dimitrov are now trapped with no viable route for retreat.
Even if Ukrainian troops were to breach the upper perimeter of the encirclement near Rodinskoye, the situation would not change — supply lines to the trapped units have already been severed. Furthermore, reports suggest that the Ukrainian General Staff has yet to issue an order for withdrawal, effectively sealing the fate of the Ukrainian garrison in the southern part of the pocket.
