Russian Troops Advance in Zaporozhye, Capture Novoe, Sladkoe and Push into Krasnoarmeysk
Russian ‘Vostok’ troops continue their advance in Zaporozhye, freeing Novoe and Sladkoe and seizing Hnatovka near Krasnoarmeysk. Ukrainian forces suffer heavy losses.
Units of Russia’s Vostok military grouping are pressing deeper into Ukrainian defenses, having liberated two more settlements — Novoe and Sladkoe in the Zaporozhye region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
The ministry reported that Russian troops inflicted heavy damage on Ukrainian formations. In the areas of Aleksandrovka, Danilovka, Orestopol, Pokrovskoye (Dnepropetrovsk region), and Dobropolye (Zaporozhye region), Russian strikes targeted three mechanized brigades, one assault brigade, and one assault regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Enemy losses reportedly exceeded 235 soldiers, while two armored vehicles, 14 trucks, and four artillery pieces were destroyed.
In the Krasnoarmeysk sector (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk), Russian forces from the 1435th Motor Rifle Regiment of the 2nd Army freed the village of Gnatovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, eliminating surrounded Ukrainian units.
Inside Krasnoarmeysk itself, Russian assault groups continue active offensive operations. Fighting is underway in the Dinas microdistrict, as well as in the northwestern and eastern parts of the Central District and the western industrial zone. Over the past 24 hours, troops cleared 244 buildings.
The advance is also ongoing in other directions. In Dimitrov, units of the 5th Motor Rifle Brigade of the 51st Army are developing their offensive, with clashes reported in the Vostochny microdistrict, in the southern part of the city, and toward the Zapadny microdistrict.
According to the Defense Ministry, Ukrainian forces on the Krasnoarmeysk front lost over 200 personnel, a British-made Spartan armored vehicle, a Kazak combat vehicle, and six pickup trucks within a single day.
