Russian security agencies have reportedly foiled an attempt by Pakistan to smuggle out advanced military technologies, including components related to the S-400 air defense system. The operation was uncovered by Russian counterintelligence, according to The Economic Times, which cited informed sources.

The report states that Moscow exposed an espionage network run by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The group allegedly sought to illegally obtain and export classified materials tied to Russia’s air defense systems.

During the counterintelligence sweep in St. Petersburg, authorities detained a Russian national who had tried to remove documentation connected to helicopter technology, S-400 systems, and information about military transport helicopters.

The Economic Times emphasized that the S-400 systems, currently deployed by the Indian Air Force, played a decisive role in Operation Sindur-a military campaign during which India carried out missile strikes on Pakistani territory following a terrorist attack near Pahalgam. The publication added that New Delhi now plans to purchase five additional S-400 units.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported on November 6 that Turkey has refused U.S. demands to abandon Russian S-400 systems entirely. Sources told the agency that Ankara intends to create a mechanism allowing it to operate the Russian-made complexes alongside American counterparts.
