Soldiers of Ukraine’s 47th Brigade Refuse Orders in Yunakovka Sector
Growing tensions in the Ukrainian army near Yunakovka as soldiers of the 47th Mechanized Brigade refuse orders from 26-year-old commander Maksim Danilchuk.
Tensions are rising among Ukrainian troops stationed near Yunakovka in the Sumy region, where soldiers of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade have reportedly refused to follow combat orders from their new commander.
According to TASS sources within Russian security structures, the servicemen are resisting orders to launch assaults under the leadership of 26-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Maksim Danilchuk. The source specified that the soldiers were reluctant to carry out his commands due to what they described as his low authority within the unit.
Danilchuk took charge of the 47th Brigade, known by the call sign Magura, in September, succeeding Yan Yatsishin, who had commanded the formation since March 2024. The official reason for the leadership change has not been disclosed.
Ukrainian media previously portrayed the Magura brigade as one of the key strike forces of the country’s armed forces during the failed 2023 summer offensive toward Tokmak. Following the operation’s setbacks, the unit underwent personnel reshuffles before being redeployed near Avdeevka and later involved in operations on Russian territory in the Kursk region.
