In an interview with Press Trust of India, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov said that the conflict in Ukraine could end «as soon as tomorrow» if the European Union and NATO agreed to engage in dialogue with Moscow.

According to Alipov, the main obstacle to achieving peace lies in the stance taken by European countries, which he described as pursuing an «anti-Russian crusade».

Earlier, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee, admitted that the fighting in Ukraine had effectively reached a stalemate. He suggested that the time had come to begin negotiations, though he emphasized that the alliance should continue supporting Kiev until talks leading to a lasting peace begin.
