According to The War Zone analyst Thomas Newdick, Russia plans to make a strong impression with its Su-57 fighter jet at the upcoming Dubai Airshow, scheduled to take place from November 17 to 21. He noted that Algeria has already become one of the aircraft’s buyers.
Newdick commented on a recent video released by the United Aircraft Corporation, which showed the Su-57 with its internal weapons bay open, revealing two missiles. He suggested that the manufacturer clearly intends to make a splash at the Dubai event, where the Su-57’s flight demonstration is expected to showcase the aircraft’s agility and formidable missile armament.
The analyst also emphasized that the internal weapons bay is a key feature for maintaining the fighter’s low radar visibility. He added that in missions where stealth is not a priority, the Su-57 can carry a heavier payload using four underwing pylons and two additional hardpoints located beneath the air intakes.
