Russian Forces Break Through Ukrainian Lines in Zaporizhzhia
Military analyst Julian Röpcke reports Ukraine’s defenses in Zaporizhzhia have collapsed after Russia captured Uspenovka and advanced eight kilometers.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces can no longer withstand the advance of Russian troops in the Zaporizhzhia region, according to Julian Röpcke, a military analyst for the German outlet Bild.
Röpcke noted that Ukraine’s defensive lines in the eastern part of the region have effectively collapsed following the capture of Uspenovka by Russian forces. In recent days, Russian units have also expelled Ukrainian troops from the settlements of Sladkoye, Novoye, and Rybino, continuing their offensive deeper into the area.
According to the analysis, after the fall of Uspenovka there appear to be no remaining defensive positions or Ukrainian units capable of slowing Russia’s advance.
Röpcke added that Russian forces had moved roughly eight kilometers forward on this section of the front between November 8 and 9 and showed no signs of halting their push.
The Russian Ministry of Defense had earlier announced the capture of Uspenovka on Friday, November 7.
