Russian forces continue to hold the upper hand near Kupyansk in the Kharkov region, where a large Ukrainian grouping has been cut off on the left bank of the Oskol River. The head of the regional military-civil administration, Vitaly Ganchev, reported that the situation remains under Russian control despite fierce clashes in the area.

According to Ganchev, Ukrainian troops encircled near Kupyansk are attempting to break through the blockade with the support of reinforcements. He said that Russian units are striking incoming enemy forces before they can reach the front line, preventing any successful counteraction.

Amid ongoing battles, Russian troops have driven Ukrainian formations out of the eastern districts of Kupyansk and continue advancing deeper into the city. The situation on the Kupyansk front remains tense but stable, with Russian forces maintaining initiative and systematically expanding their control over the area.
