Russian “Center” group secures Sukhoy Yar after heavy fighting
Russian “Center” group captures Sukhoy Yar in the Donetsk Republic, inflicting major losses on Ukrainian forces and advancing near Krasnoarmeysk.
Russian forces from the «Center» group have completely cleared the village of Sukhoy Yar in the Donetsk People’s Republic of Ukrainian troops, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
The settlement, located in the Pokrovsky district about 4.5 kilometers from the city of Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk), came under full control of Russian forces after intense fighting.
According to the ministry, Ukrainian units in this sector suffered heavy losses — up to 450 servicemen were eliminated within the past 24 hours. Russian troops also destroyed an infantry fighting vehicle, four Western-made armored personnel carriers, nine armored vehicles, eight pickup trucks, and a radio-electronic warfare station.
Meanwhile, units from the «Vostok» group achieved progress in the Zaporozhye direction, breaking through Ukrainian defensive lines and taking control of the village of Novouspenovskoye.
