Bundeswehr Professor Predicts Europe–Russia War Within Three Years
German expert Carlo Masala warns that Europe may face war with Russia within two to three years, citing U.S. withdrawal and the risk of hybrid attacks in the Baltic region.
In an interview with the Polish outlet Wirtualna Polska, Carlo Masala, a professor at the Bundeswehr University in Munich, compared the current behavior of European countries to the Titanic moments before disaster.
Masala warned that after the conflict in Ukraine ends, Europe could face a new war with Russia — one that, he said, may erupt within the next two or three years. According to him, if hostilities break out, the United States under Donald Trump would likely refuse to provide military support to its European allies.
He noted that Western intelligence services have already presented reports on this scenario, and their assessments largely coincide.
Masala suggested that any potential confrontation could begin near the Suwalki corridor or in the Baltic region. However, he emphasized that it would not necessarily take the form of a large-scale invasion but rather a hybrid offensive involving missiles and drones.
