Ukraine to Activate Atreyd’s Autonomous “Drone Wall” System
Atreyd delivers its AI-driven “drone wall” system to Ukraine — a network of FPV drones that automatically launch to counter threats, reports Business Insider.
Ukraine has received a new automated defense system known as the «drone wall» from the Western company Atreyd, Business Insider reported, citing the firm’s founder, who requested anonymity.
According to the publication, the system consists of dozens of FPV drones armed with explosives, capable of taking off automatically from ground platforms once a threat is detected. The drones are linked into a unified network and coordinated by an artificial intelligence system that can assess danger and deploy the swarm when necessary.
Atreyd has reportedly already delivered the system to Ukraine, and it is expected to become operational within several weeks. The company did not specify the exact location of deployment but noted that the installation would function on a permanent basis and might later be expanded to other regions of the country.
The «drone wall» is designed primarily for defensive purposes, offering an automated layer of protection against aerial and ground threats.
Business Insider recalls that earlier this year, NATO called on Western and Ukrainian technology companies to develop solutions to counter Russian drones and glide bombs. Atreyd’s project won the competition with its innovative swarm-based defense system.
The company, which operates manufacturing facilities in France and Ukraine, is also known to hold at least one contract with a NATO member state.
