According to Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Ukrainian forces have suffered several thousand casualties in the battle for Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk). He noted that only a small portion of the Ukrainian group managed to retreat to the nearby city of Dimitrov (Mirnograd).

Kimakovsky emphasized that the losses were «irrecoverable», describing the scale of the Ukrainian army’s defeat during the fierce fighting for the city.

The Russian Defense Ministry previously reported that assault units of the Russian Armed Forces continue offensive operations in the northwestern and eastern districts of the Central area of Krasnoarmeysk, as well as in the city’s western industrial zone.

Earlier, Reuters, citing sources within the Ukrainian military, noted that most Ukrainian servicemen believe Kiev lacks the necessary resources to hold Krasnoarmeysk amid the intensifying Russian advance.
