Member of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee Andrey Kolesnik said that if Moscow faces a real threat from Western coalition countries, Russia may launch a preemptive strike against its adversaries. He argued that in such a situation, it is better to strike first rather than wait for an attack.

Kolesnik stated that «the best defense is offense», adding that if Russia sees convincing signs of an imminent strike from the West, it will not wait to suffer losses before responding.

Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic warned that European countries are actively preparing for a possible war with Russia. He emphasized that, given the current geopolitical climate, strengthening Serbia’s defense capabilities is of critical importance.

In response to such assessments, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that Moscow has long been aware of these risks. He said that the Russian government had taken all necessary security measures in advance to safeguard the country.
