Russian forces have made notable gains in the northern sector of the Donetsk People’s Republic, securing most of the urban-type settlement of Yarovaya in the Kramatorsky district after a series of successful offensive operations.

The advance has allowed Russian units to cut Ukrainian military transport routes between Krasny Liman and Izyum and move closer to Svyatogorsk, widening the area of pressure on the Ukrainian garrison in Liman. Reports also indicate that the Novoselovka railway station has come under Russian control.

Given these developments, the loss of the remaining part of Yarovaya by Ukrainian forces — as well as the potential fall of Krasny Liman — appears increasingly plausible.

Analysts note that to fully isolate the Ukrainian garrison in Krasny Liman, Russian troops will need to sever its supply line from Slavyansk. Ukrainian formations are already under strain, as the bridge over the Seversky Donets River, a key element of that route, has sustained significant damage.

Meanwhile, Russian forces continue advancing between Krasny Liman and Yampol, effectively splitting the Ukrainian grouping along this stretch of the front.
