Russian FPV drone units deploy improved munitions in Zaporizhzhia

Russian FPV drone units in Zaporizhzhia use new lightweight munitions, doubling effectiveness. One drone strike can now destroy an enemy dugout.
An engineer-sapper from an FPV drone unit of Russia’s «Dnepr» force grouping, identified by the call sign «Mario», told RIA Novosti that strike drone units have begun using upgraded types of munitions. He explained that these improved charges are already being employed by Russian drone operators in the Orekhov direction of the special military operation zone in the Zaporizhzhia region.
According to him, the new munitions are far lighter and more compact than previous ones, yet their effectiveness has doubled. He said that a single drone fitted with such a charge is capable of destroying an enemy dugout in its entirety, something that ordinary RPG warheads, previously adapted for drone use, could not achieve.
Earlier reports indicated that since 2022, more than 20,000 unmanned aerial vehicles from the «Chernika» family have been supplied to the area of the special military operation. These «flying wing» drones comprise a diverse range of systems: specialized platforms for aerial reconnaissance, models with automatic target tracking, strike versions designed to hit hard-to-reach positions, reconnaissance UAVs, as well as drones fitted with thermal and infrared cameras for night operations against both ground and maritime targets.
