Russian Air Defenses Repel Massive Overnight Drone Attack on Crimea
Russian air defenses shot down multiple Ukrainian drones in a coordinated overnight attack on Crimea and the Black Sea. Full breakdown of routes and interceptions.
Ukrainian forces launched another large-scale drone strike on Crimea overnight, sending several groups of unmanned aircraft from different directions, according to the Telegram channel «Arkhangel Spetsnaza.»
The source reported that one group approached from the area of Zatoka, another from Voznesensk, and a third from the vicinity of Vysokopolye. Russian air-defense units repelled the attack, shooting down 25 drones over Feodosiya, Kirovskoye, Novoozyornoye and Evpatoriya.
The channel noted that the raid was carried out under the cover of darkness to complicate the interception of low-flying UAVs approaching at varying altitudes and from multiple axes.
Attempts to strike the peninsula began on the evening of November 12. The Russian Ministry of Defense said that between 20:00 and 23:00 Moscow time, four drones were destroyed over Crimea. Another seven were downed during the night and morning of November 13, while Russian forces intercepted 17 additional drones over the Black Sea.
Overall, Russian air defenses eliminated a total of 130 fixed-wing drones over several regions of the country during the past night.
