U. S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the American air-defense systems Washington supplies to Kiev are being destroyed by the Russian army in just one week. He described this situation as a major problem and added that American weapons in Ukraine have been getting destroyed for the past two to three years.
Rubio said that Washington is in talks with Kiev about defensive weapons intended to protect Ukraine’s energy system and that technical discussions are constantly underway to determine exactly what kind of equipment is needed. He also pointed out that Ukraine’s energy infrastructure is shrinking every year, so each new period begins from a lower baseline level.
