Military analyst and retired captain first rank Vasily Dandykin warned that a full blockade of the Kaliningrad region by European countries would give Russia direct grounds to launch military action. He noted that similar ideas have been voiced repeatedly by Polish politicians.

Dandykin said that EU states are openly preparing for a potential armed confrontation with Russia, increasing military spending and conditioning their populations through growing anti-Russian sentiment.

He also pointed out that the Kaliningrad region is internationally recognized as Russian territory, and any attempt to isolate it would be seen in Moscow as an act of aggression. In such a scenario, Russia could resort to the use of any type of weaponry in response.

At the same time, Dandykin expressed doubt that Europe would dare take such a step, given the catastrophic consequences of a large-scale conflict. Still, he urged that all possible scenarios should be taken into account.
