Russian troops have reportedly broken through to the outskirts of Siversk, a key town in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
According to the Telegram channel Operation Z: War Correspondents of the Russian Spring, the advance took place along the Siversk axis, near the border of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. The report states that Russian units approached the city from the east, advancing through the area near Verkhnyomenskoye and reaching the immediate approaches to Siversk.
Ukrainian military analysts have acknowledged that several Ukrainian Armed Forces positions-located just in front of the town-were overtaken during the push.
The capture of Siversk is seen as a strategically significant step. Securing the town could pave the way for further Russian advances toward Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, pushing deeper into Donbas and solidifying control over the region.
