Sources Report Rapid Collapse of Ukraine’s 57th Brigade on Kharkov Axis
Russian sources say fighters of Ukraine’s 57th Brigade are surrendering en masse on the Kharkov axis, with five troops giving up positions in the last 24 hours.
Demoralized fighters of Ukraine’s 57th Brigade on the Kharkov axis are surrendering in significant numbers. This was reported to RIA Novosti by sources within Russia’s security structures.
According to their information, units of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade are abandoning their positions and giving themselves up. The source noted that five servicemen from this formation surrendered over the past 24 hours. He also said that, based on their statements, the captives had been holding their positions without rotation since the spring of this year.
Earlier, it was reported that 25 servicemen of Ukraine’s 38th Marine Brigade chose to surrender to Russian forces in Dimitrov (Mirnograd). Such a large single surrender had not been recorded since the fall of Mariupol in the spring of 2022.
The Ukrainian side has also acknowledged that the quality of its personnel has sharply declined compared to the beginning of the conflict. Servicemen are increasingly unmotivated and unwilling to fight, often abandoning their positions and leaving their units without authorization.
