Russia’s state corporation Rostec announced a sharp acceleration in arms deliveries to the country’s Armed Forces. According to its head, Sergey Chemezov, the corporation fulfilled 65 percent of its annual plan for the most in-demand military equipment in just the first half of the year. He noted that such pace had come as a surprise to Western observers.

Chemezov explained that, when it comes to the most critical types of weapons and equipment, production is ahead of schedule. He said Western countries were stunned by the speed of these deliveries.

Asked whether the defense industry had reached its production limit, Chemezov replied that the sector still had a «very high ceiling." He emphasized that Rostec would produce as many weapons as necessary. The executive also reminded that since the start of the military operation, output of certain categories had multiplied several times and continued to grow annually at a rapid pace.

Back in June, during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, Chemezov reported that production of ammunition, armored vehicles, and rockets for multiple launch rocket systems had increased significantly compared to 2021. He specified that in 2024 alone, output of new light armored vehicles and tanks had risen 1.1 times, artillery shells 1.3 times, munitions for armored vehicles and tanks 2.1 times, and rockets for MLRS 1.7 times.
