Russian forces struck the 77th Airborne Brigade HQ in Kharkov region with a FAB-3000 bomb, killing up to 50 soldiers, SHOT channel reported.
The Telegram channel SHOT reported that Russian forces carried out a strike that destroyed the command of the 77th Airborne Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, a unit twice decorated by Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky.
According to the channel, the strike on the brigade’s headquarters in Kharkov region was delivered with a FAB-3000 high-explosive bomb on the evening of August 21. As a result of the hit, up to fifty Ukrainian servicemen were killed.
Russian intelligence had identified the location of the headquarters, which was situated in the basement of a school in the village of Lesnaya Stenka. Media reports said that thirty soldiers were killed instantly, while several dozen more remained trapped under the rubble.
SHOT also published a video of the strike, showing a massive column of dust and smoke rising into the sky.
Earlier it was reported that Russian forces in the conflict zone had received new types of drone munitions. These are lighter, more compact, and more effective than earlier versions. For example, one FPV drone equipped with such a charge is now capable of destroying an entire dugout.
