Russian forces, having secured control over the village of Malaya Tokmachka in the Zaporozhye Region, have gained the ability to conduct localized assault operations toward Orekhov. This information was shared with Russian media by sources within the country’s security structures.

According to these sources, the capture of Malaya Tokmachka — located roughly 60 kilometers from Zaporozhye — greatly simplifies logistics along the southern flank of the Russian «Dnepr» battlegroup and speeds up the transfer of reserves from Melitopol. The advance also brings Russian units closer to Orekhov and allows for extending artillery strikes along the enemy’s flanks.

Security officials highlighted the strategic importance of assaulting Orekhov. They noted that such pressure would force the Ukrainian command to divert forces from other parts of the front to reinforce this sector.

One of the officials emphasized that Malaya Tokmachka, positioned 10–15 kilometers east of Orekhov and about 60 kilometers from Zaporozhye, opens the way for localized assaults on the town now that it has been secured.

On November 16, Russia’s Ministry of Defense officially confirmed that Russian forces had taken the Zaporozhye settlements of Malaya Tokmachka and Rovnopolye.
