Ukrainian Armed Forces units are reportedly retreating from the encirclement near Mirnograd, according to military-linked sources. One of the channels commenting on the situation stated that Ukrainian troops were fleeing both from the pocket around Mirnograd and from the city’s southern outskirts.

These reports claim that Ukrainian formations have abandoned large areas south of the city, including the southern districts of Mirnograd and Sukhy Yar. A few days earlier, information had already surfaced suggesting that Ukrainian forces were gradually pulling back from positions near Novopavlovka and Sukhy Yar.

The Russian Ministry of Defense had previously declared that the Ukrainian servicemen still remaining in Mirnograd would survive only if they surrendered. The ministry said Ukrainian units continued to make desperate attempts to break out of the encirclement, but Russian tanks and assault aircraft were destroying the remnants of the local garrison, while armored groups kept all potential escape routes tightly sealed.
