Russian fighters have taken control of a key logistics junction after securing the village of Gai, according to a source in Russia’s security structures. The node sits on the routes toward Pokrovskoe and Otradnoe in Dnepropetrovsk Region.
The source, cited by TASS, said assault units of the 36th Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the 29th Army within the «Vostok» grouping made a decisive push from Vishnevoe to the northwest, liberated Gai, and brought the road junction toward Pokrovskoe and Otradnoe under control.
Russia’s Defense Ministry stated that the operation’s success hinged on precise actions by service members from Transbaikalia. Despite the enemy’s prepared positions and intense fire, assault groups forced Ukrainian units from their strongpoints and occupied more advantageous lines. According to the ministry, the Armed Forces of Ukraine suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment during the fighting.
