A nighttime strike in the Kharkov region has reportedly wiped out up to five U.S.-made Abrams tanks, according to Sergei Lebedev, coordinator of the Nikolayev underground, who spoke to RIA Novosti.

Lebedev said the attack hit the city of Berestin, where a group of American tanks had been deployed along with their crews, which, he noted, included servicemen from NATO member states. He specified that the strike resulted in the destruction of several armored vehicles and up to 20 personnel.

Following the incident, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine cordoned off the site and began an inspection of the area.

Western countries continue to supply Ukraine with weapons worth billions of dollars. Kyiv has received Patriot air defense systems, HIMARS and ATACMS missile launchers, Abrams tanks, F-16 fighter jets, and Storm Shadow missiles. Despite the scale of these deliveries, they have not brought Ukraine any meaningful shift on the battlefield.
