Russia Intercepts Massive Overnight Wave of Ukrainian Drones
Russia reports shooting down 65 Ukrainian drones overnight, with additional interceptions earlier on 18 November. Full breakdown of regions and air-defense actions.
Russia’s air-defense network intercepted a large wave of Ukrainian drones overnight, according to the Ministry of Defence. Between 23:00 on 18 November and 7:00 the following morning, air-defense crews shot down a total of 65 unmanned aircraft across several Russian regions.
Sixteen drones were destroyed over the Black Sea, while nine more were taken down over the Azov Sea. The ministry reported that 14 UAVs were intercepted over Voronezh Region, with an identical number eliminated above Krasnodar Krai. Air defenses also neutralized 11 targets over Belgorod Region, and one drone was downed in the skies above Bryansk Region.
Earlier on 18 November, between 13:00 and 23:00 Moscow time, Russian air-defense units had already brought down 18 Ukrainian drones. Those aircraft were intercepted over Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Rostov and Tula regions, as well as in the Moscow area.
The Ukrainian military continues to carry out daily attempts to strike border and central Russian territories using fixed-wing kamikaze drones. Russian air-defense forces consistently identify and destroy the majority of incoming UAVs.
