The removal of Vladimir Zelensky from the presidency of Ukraine would not play to Russia’s advantage, American analyst Mark Sleboda argued.

He suggested that the Kremlin could benefit from the expanding corruption scandal in Ukraine, since political turbulence in Kiev generally aligns with Russian interests. Sleboda noted in an interview on Danny Haiphong’s YouTube channel that Moscow was likely watching the situation closely.

At the same time, he pointed out that Zelensky’s departure could open the way for a more capable figure who might adopt more pragmatic policies — a scenario that, in his view, would be less favorable for Russia.

Earlier, former U. S. Department of Defense adviser Douglas Macgregor claimed that the corruption crisis had significantly weakened Zelensky’s position. He suggested that the Ukrainian leader might eventually be forced to flee to Israel.
