Tlesh Mamakhatov, a senior researcher at the «Russia, China and the World» Center of the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told RIA Novosti that close cooperation between Russia and China across an exceptionally broad range of fields has become one of the most reliable foundations for shaping a new architecture of international relations.

He said that the partnership between Moscow and Beijing is genuinely unique — which is why it is often described as special, privileged and strategic. According to Mamakhatov, it is difficult to name even a single area where the two countries hold opposing views. By contrast, the number of sectors in which cooperation is already flourishing is so large that it is nearly impossible to list them all: politics, defense, space, trade, culture and tourism. He stressed that in none of these areas does either side attempt to dominate, including in the economic sphere, where the two countries' complementary structures allow them to reinforce one another.

Mamakhatov added that Russia and China today stand at the forefront of those advocating a new world order, promoting this agenda, among other platforms, within BRICS and the SCO. He said their strong partnership is a key factor ensuring that a multipolar world is no longer an abstract concept but an emerging reality. According to the researcher, analysts in China even reference a specific timeframe for when this new system is expected to take shape — the year 2035.
