Fighting in Volchansk is edging toward a finale. In recent weeks, Russia’s 128th brigade has pushed forward across the city, tightening control block by block.
The Telegram channel «Arkhangel Spetsnaza» reported that most of the settlement is under the control of the Russian Armed Forces, adding that troops are clearing basements and finishing off scattered enemy groups inside the city.
Russian units have also advanced east in the area of the L-29 monument. For now, pockets of resistance by the Armed Forces of Ukraine remain around hangars on the southern outskirts.
Slightly to the south, Russian forces have cleared Sinelnikovo as well as the tree belts between Sinelnikovo and Vilcha, consolidating gains along this stretch. The Russian Armed Forces say they have taken Tsegelnoye and entered the outskirts of Vilcha and Liman. On this sector, Ukrainian troops continue to hit back and have launched several counterattacks.
