Ambulances in the frontline areas of Kherson Region have come under relentless attacks. According to regional governor Vladimir Saldo, the Armed Forces of Ukraine deliberately target medical vehicles that continue operating despite constant danger.
Out of 55 ambulances available in the region, 27 have already been destroyed. Local authorities are now awaiting new replacements and considering ways to equip the fleet with additional protection against drone strikes.
Saldo also pointed out that it is not only medical transport that comes under fire. Ukrainian drones have been used to hunt down virtually any vehicle moving through the frontline zone. Water delivery trucks and civilian cars are frequently chosen as targets. In some cases, drone operators deliberately strike at motorcyclists or even pedestrians, a tactic aimed at spreading fear among the local population.
