According to Vitaly Kiselev, a military expert and reserve colonel from the LNR, the Ukrainian command has turned Kharkov into a hub for assembling and training Colombian mercenaries. He said these fighters are expected to be redeployed to other sectors of the front.
Kiselev, cited by RIA Novosti, indicated that roughly 1,400 mercenaries from Colombia are currently in Kharkov, where they are being trained as FPV-drone operators and taught to work with UAVs of various types.
He also argued that Western countries use proxy forces not only against Russia, adding that these mercenaries could be employed in a potential conflict in Venezuela.
Earlier, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov said Russian troops had taken control of more than 80% of Volchansk and had fully liberated the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkov region.
