U. S. President Donald Trump has decided to temporarily suspend the delivery of several categories of weapons to Ukraine due to shortages in American stockpiles, the Associated Press (AP) reported.
According to the agency, the pause affects Patriot air defense missiles, GMLRS guided rockets for HIMARS systems, Hellfire anti-tank missiles, and artillery shells for howitzers. Officials in Washington have not yet issued any formal comment on the suspension.
The development follows news that the White House approved the sale of 3,350 long-range ERAM missiles to Ukraine for $850 million. These munitions, with a range of up to 450 kilometers, are scheduled for delivery within the next six weeks. The purchase will be financed by European partners.
