Russian forces advance inside Konstantinovka as local resistance weakens
Major General Sergei Lipovoy reports Russian forces advancing in Konstantinovka, a key logistics hub, with weaker VSU resistance and street fighting ongoing.
Russian military analyst Major General Sergei Lipovoy says Russian forces are steadily advancing inside Konstantinovka and believes the fate of the city will be decided in the very near future.
According to Lipovoy, Konstantinovka has long been a key strongpoint and logistics hub for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU). Both road and rail routes run through the city, and for an extended period it served as a major defensive node. Precisely for that reason, he argues, Ukrainian units are holding onto Konstantinovka as if it were their last line of defense.
Lipovoy notes that Russian Armed Forces (VSRF) units have already entered Konstantinovka and are now engaged in combat with Ukrainian troops inside the city. Russian assault units, he says, are gradually clearing the streets. Resistance in Konstantinovka continues but is described as noticeably weaker than before. In his assessment, the Russian side may need roughly another two days to take control of the city.
Military channels report that Russian forces are pressing the offensive on Konstantinovka from the southwest, south and southeast. Between Stepanovka and Yablonovka, VSRF units have advanced along the H-32 highway toward its junction with the H-20 road. South of Konstantinovka, Russian troops have cleared the northern outskirts of Ivanopolye.
