Washington has halted financial support for Ukraine’s military campaign following a directive from U. S. President Donald Trump. White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told reporters that Trump had ordered an end to funding for the conflict, while the United States continues to supply — or sell — significant volumes of weapons to NATO allies.

She explained that although direct money transfers to Kiev have stopped, the flow of American arms through NATO channels remains active.

Trump had already signaled this shift on 11 November, stressing that Washington was no longer sending financial aid to Ukraine and now receives payments for weaponry provided via NATO mechanisms.

Moscow argues that the steady stream of Western arms into Kiev blocks any meaningful diplomatic progress and deepens NATO’s involvement in the confrontation. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has previously warned that any shipments of weapons to Ukraine, as well as alliance personnel operating in the combat zone, would be treated as legitimate targets by Russian forces.
