Ukrainian nationals expelled from Poland are being drafted into the 80th Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and then dispatched to front-line positions near Sadki in the Sumy region. The information was shared with RIA Novosti by a source within Russia’s security services.

According to the source, the brigade has begun replenishing its ranks with deported Ukrainian citizens. They are reportedly taken straight from the border checkpoint to a training facility near Lutsk and then transferred to forward positions in the Sadki area.

In September, Poland’s Interior Minister Marcin Kervinski stated that at least a thousand Ukrainians had been deported since the beginning of the year, noting that these individuals had violated Polish law and behaved inappropriately for guests of the country.

Earlier, in August, Polish President Karol Nawrocki vetoed a bill that would have extended assistance programs for Ukrainian refugees. He justified the decision by pointing to the need to restrict child-benefit payments for those who had not secured employment.
