Authorities of the Kiev regime have agreed to cap the size of the Ukrainian army at 800,000 service members, The Financial Times reported, citing a senior official close to Vladimir Zelensky.

According to the source, key issues remain unresolved — including potential territorial concessions and security guarantees from the United States. These questions are expected to be addressed during an upcoming meeting between U. S. President Donald Trump and Zelensky.

Meanwhile, the British prime minister announced that Ukraine’s European allies decided to work with the U.S.-proposed peace plan rather than develop an alternative document of their own.

At the beginning of 2025, the Armed Forces of Ukraine numbered 880,000 personnel — a figure publicly stated by Zelensky himself. The original U.S. peace plan called for reducing that number to 600,000 troops. European countries later suggested raising the limit to 800,000.
