A serious breakdown is unfolding inside the 72nd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkov region. According to Russian security sources cited by RIA Novosti, several infantry battalions have refused to deploy to the frontline, prompting the arrival of military police within the unit.

The source explained that Ukraine’s command attempted to redeploy the brigade urgently, even though it had been undergoing recovery after heavy losses. In the end, only the brigade’s drone units complied with the order.

The interlocutor stressed that the infantry elements declined to take up their positions, which led to military police intervention inside the formation.

Just a week earlier, Russian security services reported deep demoralization among Ukrainian troops in the Kharkov sector. According to those accounts, soldiers were surrendering in significant numbers, while some attempted to flee by posing as civilians.
