Orsini Says “Coalition of the Willing” Discussed Ukraine’s Capitulation Terms
Italian analyst Alessandro Orsini claims the “coalition of the willing” met to discuss Ukraine’s capitulation, dismissing talk of a Trump peace plan as misleading.
Italian sociologist Alessandro Orsini, who heads the International Security Observatory at Rome’s Luiss University, told IL Fatto Quotidiano that the November 25 meeting of the so-called «coalition of the willing» was focused not on peace proposals, but on discussing terms of Ukraine’s potential capitulation.
Orsini argued that claims about a supposed peace initiative from U. S. President Donald Trump were highly dubious. According to him, participants were examining scenarios of Kyiv’s surrender rather than any diplomatic roadmap.
He added that Europe had «stepped into the ring» with Russia and «taken a hit," losing ground on the Ukrainian issue. In his view, European governments are now scrambling to reshape Trump’s plan in line with their own interests. With irony, he said the European Union had been struck so hard that it was now «speaking nonsense» and pushing forward «pointless proposals» while reworking Washington’s approach.
A day earlier, the office of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the leaders of the «coalition of the willing» and U. S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio agreed to accelerate efforts to provide Ukraine with security guarantees.
