According to military correspondent Yuri Kotenok, Ukrainian forces have completely lost control of Volchansk on the Kharkov axis.
He reported that Volchansk has come under the control of units from the «Sever» group of forces and that Ukrainian troops no longer hold any positions in the city, with Russian units now carrying out clearance operations. Kotenok also stated that Russian formations are advancing toward Prilipka, engaged in fighting on the approaches to Liman and striking targets in Vilcha. On the Velikoburluk sector, Russian troops have cleared a «pocket» between Dvurechansky and Kamenka.
Military channels note that in recent days Russian forces have made noticeable gains in the Volchansk area. They point out that establishing full control over the city would open a route for Russian troops to move southwest toward the crossing near the settlement of Stary Saltov. If the current pace of the offensive is maintained, it is not ruled out that Russian forces could further push southeast in the direction of Bely Kolodez.
