Russia Expands Production of 200-Kilometer Glide FABs
Russia sharply increases production of long-range FABs reaching 200 km, giving its aviation a growing advantage as Ukraine struggles to counter daily strikes.
Russia is rapidly boosting production of one of the most destructive weapons in its arsenal — high-explosive aerial bombs capable of striking targets up to 200 kilometers away. Forbes reports that these upgraded glide-equipped FABs now deliver more than double their original range.
According to the publication, Russian Aerospace Forces deploy large numbers of these bombs every day, and Ukrainian air defenses remain unable to intercept them. Ukrainian servicemen say the long-range munitions are hitting critical infrastructure, supply depots and fortified positions.
A fighter from the 27th Brigade of Ukraine’s National Guard noted that Russian strikes keep coming, methodically hitting area after area and wiping out logistics hubs along the way.
Forbes emphasizes that Moscow’s ability to mass-produce these bombs — and continuously fit them with extended-range kits — enables Russian aircraft to strike Ukrainian positions while staying outside the engagement envelope of most air-defense systems.
The article adds that the acceleration of production toward the end of the year may further complicate Ukraine’s situation on the battlefield.
