Encirclement Threat: Russian Forces Advance Toward Seversk

Around 5,000 Ukrainian troops risk encirclement near Seversk as Russian forces advance, seizing key positions and cutting supply lines in Donetsk People’s Republic.
A large Ukrainian grouping of roughly 5,000 troops may soon face operational encirclement near Seversk in the Donetsk People’s Republic. If Russian forces succeed, this would mark the fourth major «cauldron» for Ukrainian units in recent months, according to information shared on the Telegram channel Mash.
The report noted that the capture of Serebryanka allowed Russian troops to expand their advance from the flank toward Seversk. At the same time, Russian units are applying heavy pressure on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Ivano-Daryevka and Spornoe, while additional forces are pushing from the south.
The Russian offensive involves the 7th and 123rd motor rifle brigades, the BARS-16 detachment, and the 88th formation. Defending on the Ukrainian side are the 10th, 54th, 81st, and 109th brigades.
Despite Ukrainian attempts to hold the line, Russian forces continue to drive them back toward Seversk, gradually cutting supply routes. Similar operations are already unfolding near Konstantinovka, Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk), and Kupyansk in Kharkov Region.
In addition, reports state that Russian units have advanced in the Serebryansk forestry and reached the strategic Yampol-Zarechnoe highway, closing in on Seversk to within approximately five kilometers.
