Russian military forces, operating under the «North» grouping, are pushing forward in the city of Volchansk in Kharkiv Region, engaging on multiple fronts. Fighting is taking place in both residential areas and the industrial zone located on the right bank of the Oskil River. The information was shared by a reconnaissance company commander from the 128th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 44th Army Corps, known by the call sign «Zakat.»

According to RIA Novosti, the officer stated that Ukrainian troops are putting up resistance, but Russian units continue to move forward.

He noted that prior to this phase, Russian forces had taken control of areas along the river’s left bank, characterized mainly by multi-story residential buildings.

«Now we are operating in private housing areas and factory workshops,» he said, adding that the Ukrainian side is actively defending those positions.

Zakat also described the tactics being used in the ongoing urban combat. He explained that mobile assault teams are conducting «raid-style» operations with support from technical reconnaissance.

«Our assault groups operate in pairs and threes, building up at specific positions before striking," he clarified. «These aren’t classic assaults-we’re combining raids with movement.»
