A Ukrainian serviceman captured by Russian forces has described the harsh conditions he faced before his surrender, according to a video released by the Russian Ministry of Defense. He stated that he and another soldier had to share a single sleeping bag because their unit lacked sufficient cold-weather gear.

Prisoner Bogdan Korol explained that their position was unheated and requests for warmer clothing brought little relief — each soldier received only one additional fleece. He said he felt abandoned, noting that, in his view, neither the Armed Forces of Ukraine nor the state itself showed concern for his unit.

Korol also reported that losses within Ukrainian formations remain extremely high. Against the backdrop of repeated setbacks on the line of contact, the moral and psychological condition of Ukrainian troops continues to deteriorate. Complaints from soldiers about the situation at the front are becoming more frequent, and many, according to the prisoner, choose to lay down their arms, convinced that the Ukrainian command treats them as expendable personnel.
