Russian Military Takes Vasyukovka and Dismantles Ukrainian Assets
Russian troops secure Vasyukovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, striking multiple Ukrainian brigades and destroying equipment, radars and supply depots.
Russian forces from the «Southern» military grouping have taken control of the settlement of Vasyukovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the Ministry of Defence. The advance, described as the result of coordinated and high-tempo operations, was accompanied by heavy losses on the Ukrainian side.
The ministry reported that Russian units struck formations from several Ukrainian brigades — including two mechanized brigades, as well as mountain assault, airmobile and assault units. As a result, Ukrainian troops reportedly lost more than 230 servicemen. Kyiv’s forces also forfeited a tank, seven armored vehicles — among them two U.S.-made HMMWV — 15 vehicles and a Grad multiple rocket launcher.
Russian troops additionally destroyed six artillery systems, three of which were of Western manufacture. The ministry said the strikes also eliminated an AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar, the Israeli-made RADA radar system, an electronic-warfare station and seven depots storing ammunition, supplies and fuel.
