Ukrainian forces launched a salvo on the Belgorod Region on November 27 using HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems, according to military analyst and retired colonel Gennady Alekhin, who spoke to aif.ru. He stated that the strike originated from the Kharkov direction.

The previous day, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that air-defense units had intercepted several aerial targets over Belgorod and the Belgorodsky District. Authorities temporarily declared a drone-attack warning, and for 16 minutes starting at 4 a.m., the region operated under a missile-threat alert. Several impacts were recorded on energy-infrastructure sites.

Alekhin said the fire was delivered from positions north of Kharkov, pointing to the areas of Dergachi and Liptsy. He counted roughly a dozen explosions, attributing them to Russian air-defense interceptions, and suggested that two HIMARS launch packages were likely used.

He added that the rocket attack coincided with a wave of heavy strike drones sent toward the region. Despite dense fog over the city, the «Bars» and «Orlan» units reportedly shot down more than fifty UAVs.

According to Alekhin, Russian Aerospace Forces responded by striking Ukrainian positions around Kharkov.
