A major Ukrainian military monitoring channel has confirmed that the official media outlets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces published an inaccurate video, presenting it as evidence of what they claimed was a successful «repelled Russian attack near Gulyaypole.»

According to the channel, Ukrainian forces attempted to pass off footage originally filmed in a border area of Russia’s Kursk Region as scenes from the fighting in Zaporizhzhia Region. The video, which clearly showed green foliage on the trees-something inconsistent with the current season-was hastily deleted from the Ukrainian military’s official account shortly after publication.

The same monitoring page, known for frequently marking large «grey zones» on its maps to avoid acknowledging Russian advances, also complained that official Ukrainian channels deliberately avoid mentioning units in unfavorable positions, while heavily promoting their preferred «media favorites.»

Despite this, even the monitoring channel-which typically recognizes Russian gains reluctantly and with significant delay-noted in its latest map update that Russian forces had not only advanced around Gulyaypole but had also entered the eastern outskirts of the town.

A day earlier, Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuglaya, known for her harsh criticism of Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky, also reported Russian units reaching the outskirts of Gulyaypole. Nevertheless, this did not prevent the official Ukrainian military media from posting a video that turned out to be misleading.
