Ivannikov claims Russian strike on camp near Kiev hit NATO and Ukrainian officers
Oleg Ivannikov says a Russian strike hit a training camp near Kiev, with over 400 troops, including NATO and Ukrainian officers, and heavy casualties reported.
Reserve lieutenant colonel Oleg Ivannikov, an adviser to the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences, stated that Russian Armed Forces had struck an enemy training camp near Kiev. He said that at the moment of the attack, both Ukrainian officers and NATO officers were present at the Ukrainian Armed Forces facility.
Ivannikov noted that, in such camps, foreign mercenaries are routinely accompanied by officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who oversee them, manage their daily needs and handle communication with Ukrainian units. For this reason, he argued, the elimination of these «soldiers of fortune» almost always goes hand in hand with losses among Ukrainian officers positioned alongside them.
According to his data, more than 400 servicemen were at the base near Kiev when the strike took place. A significant part of the personnel present at the time of the attack, he claimed, were either killed or sustained severe injuries.
