Russia’s Defense Ministry says assault units have entered the settlement of Grishino, located near Krasnoarmeisk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk).
According to the ministry, Russian storm groups have moved into Grishino in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Officials also reported that units of the 2nd Army continue to advance in the eastern districts of Krasnoarmeisk and in the Dinas neighborhood, while Russian troops are still clearing the settlement of Rovno of remaining Ukrainian forces.
The ministry stated that over the past 24 hours Russian troops repelled ten attacks by units of the 32nd Mechanized Brigade and the 425th Assault Regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. These units, it said, counterattacked from Grishino in an attempt to break through to encircled Ukrainian troops. In the course of the fighting, up to 35 Ukrainian servicemen were reported killed.
